School Philosophy

The faculty and administration of Fruitdale High School submit the

following statement of philosophy:

We believe that the responsibility of educating the youth of the

Fruitdale community is our prime objective. We feel that learning must be

a joyful experience that leads to the success of every child. We believe that

schools should provide students with learning situations and experiences to

develop their innate abilities to their fullest potential. However, we are fully

aware that school personnel must solicit community resources, use school

facilities, teach skills and materials, and expend their energy and enthusiasm

toward the development of this goal.

While emphasis is placed on a basic educational program with the

elementary school providing experiences that allow students to acquire basic

skills and knowledge that aid in initiating and maintaining mental, physical,

social, emotional and ethical development, it is also necessary that further

development of these skills take place in junior and senior high school

as well.

We, as educators, strive to provide proven and accepted methods

and techniques of teaching with the ultimate outcome being to develop the

individual student to his/her greatest capacity and to improve his/her ability

to make wise decisions concerning his/her personal, civic and social life.
